Temple City – Ayodhya

Welcome to Ayodhya

Ayodhya – The Birthplace of Lord Rama and a Sacred City of India

Ram Janmabhoomi, meaning “Rama’s birthplace,” is revered as the site where Lord Rama—an incarnation of Vishnu—was born. This sacred land is situated along the Sarayu River in the city of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The Ramayana narrates Ayodhya as the glorious capital of Lord Rama.

Ancient scriptures like the Atharva Veda praise Ayodhya as “a city built by Gods and as prosperous as paradise.” The spiritual significance of Ayodhya draws not only Hindus but also Jain and Buddhist pilgrims. In fact, five Jain Tirthankaras, including Adinath, were born here.

Ayodhya is where the celebration of Diwali began — when the city illuminated with lamps to welcome Lord Rama after his victory over Ravana. Today, Ayodhya remains a vibrant spiritual hub where faith, mythology, and history unite.
