Lord Ganesha in Kashi
Sri Kashi Vishalakshi Vishweswarabhyam Namah... Om Namobhagavate Vedavyasaaya Namah...
Lord Ganesha, the beloved son of Shiva and Parvati, holds a divine and crucial presence in Kashi.
It is believed that no one can step into this holy city without the blessing of Dhundhi Vinayak.
In Skanda Purana (Kashi Khanda), Lord Subrahmanya tells Sage Agastya that Dhundhi Vinayak must be
worshipped before beginning any spiritual journey in Kashi. Shiva himself declared: “Without
pleasing you, no one can even step into Kashi.”
There are **54 sacred Vinayak temples** in Kashi—grouped into six folds—that bless the spiritual
seekers.
